The Golden Thread

Many ask if there is one God then why are there so many religions? And this is a rightful question and thinking this through appropriately will help you beyond all measures. We were given these minds to use them, and connecting all the dots is a must as the Scripture is a hyperlink text. You can't compartmentalize the separate pieces but must connect it all to understand God and mankind. Each part must be related to your own psyche for you to turn your entire soul into the Everlasting and Eternal Soul that is like God's, and in the Moment is the Lord's here on earth. Who is to question what God Almighty is capable of? Who was here when the universe was created? Who was here when the earth was formed? Who can count all the stars?

Anyway, let's think about water. Water is the mother of all liquids. Everything comes from water that is considered a liquid, but would you say poison is water or even water according to how it's embodied? Would you say soda is water, though it even has water in it? Would you give someone a drink other than water and tell them it's water? Now, we can say water is the lifeblood of all living organisms and is even like the blood of this earth, but what about the spiritual realm?

We have mathematics that shows a universal bonding in the Natural Order. And different branches were discovered at different times and in different places, and yet mathematics transcends our primal understanding of things. It's closer to truth than our own intuitions and knowing is. Furthermore, we can understand that to understand physics better we ought to use calculus rather than basic arithmetic. Yet, in certain practices, many components cooperate to establish a system. And not all systems are the same. Some are optimized, and others are inefficient. One is better than the rest, and yet this is of man's making which is finite and always flawed.

The Golden Thread is a concept that shows a connection between all spiritual schools of thought. It's an explanation of how they all have a thread linking them, yet people use this explanation to digress from Truth. It's likened to different forests that surround a mountain unseen by human eyes. And people wander these forests thinking since they all have trees and similar animals that they are all the same and that this is the answer. But this is erroneous since none of them know what's atop the mountain, since they can't see past the trees. Now, let's say there are many mountains surrounded by many forests. We know that the peaks aren't all the same, but what can we say rests upon the mountain tops? Are they all the same, because they're mountains or are they not just an understanding for the animal mind to make sense of what is only its ignorance and bliss?

Though similar things have been said with respect to the things pertaining to the spirit, they are not the same for where a way leads to is just as important as it acting as a pathway to walk on. For instance, you can go to many lectures and sermons and hear parts of the Truth, but these tend to be mixed with their own agendas, and they don't arrive at the same destination as every building block must be placed carefully with precision and accuracy to ensure the building is sound. Though they sound like similar things are they the same? Even though people speak the same language as you are they the same as you? But how do we appropriately reconcile these similarities?

They exist because God has always spoken to humanity. His Voice has been with us from the very beginning. The Golden Thread works to show that Christ is Absolute. It also works to show the Original Sin as mankind places its own judgment on things that are absolute showing their own beastiality and fallibility. Though things may contain tidbits of the Truth they are convoluted with man's will which is like polluted water that any honest man would not give to another who asks for a drink. Yet these things depend on at least a portion of the Truth and so admit to Christ by an undeniable action testifying of existence. Can one truly deny the existence of air by even their tongue since air is required to speak? Can one hear and accept the denial of sound waves though they can't be seen by our eyes? Can one in any way communicate the denial of air, since the body will shut down from lack of it? Simply put, speaking True Words of Wisdom, even without knowing this, is admitting to and of Christ, since all Wisdom comes from God. Even in ignorance or blindness speaking any part of the Truth is testifying to the existence of the Whole Truth, though it is always a grave danger to not give credit to the Master, since the sharpest sword can be misused and fallen upon.

So, let's think upon these many different religions. Why ever would an honorable father tell his children how to live life and leave them to sow and reap their own toil? Well, what reward is there if the choices we make are without consequences? What'd be the point? Surely, the one who keeps their peace among a crowd of animals will know the answer to this. But what would any experience be if we didn't have even the slightest opportunity of options? Surely if we played chest against a professional and they beat us we'd learn from it. But what of a Master that knew our every move and though we made many errors played in such a way to allow us to correct our errors and, in the end, proclaim victory? This would allow us to truly learn the art of playing chess, and what pertains to the spirit is infinitely greater.

Though forgiveness is touted in many spiritual schools of thought, is this even the same across all? Sure, there seems to be a universal aspect of it, but allow me to paint a picture for you. Imagine you're about to be a guest in a house, and before you enter in through the door you realize someone forgot to move a substantial-sized boulder out of the way. To enter in you must first remove the boulder out of the way and you do so. Now, the clearing is cleared, and you enter. But where do you go from there? In this particular house, there are 6 rooms, and each one has a unique function. One is a workout room, another a TV room, and so on. Forgiveness is a lot like this. Now that your conscious is clean what will you focus it on next? What will fill the empty and clean cup that is your mind?

Though many other religions talk about forgiveness, it's not the same. Think of cups that hold soil. One is empty, one is full of good soil, and the last is full of bad soil. The empty one can be both good and bad since it can either be filled with good or bad soil. The 2nd cup, left the way it is, is good regardless of what gets poured on top of it, because both possible soils will layer only the top and outside of the cup and fall off as soon as the wind blows. The last cup can be both bad or good. It'll be bad if the soil is left in it. If the bad soil is poured out and good soil is put in it'll be good, but if the bad soil is only poured out to be replaced by even worse soil it will be worse than before. Your soul is the cup. And forgiveness is pouring the bad soil out, but what will you fill it with afterward?

The reason I brought these points up was to provide the most simple yet effective reasoning for why Christ is the only True Answer because as a believer people will bombard you with questions about other religions in the name of false morality which is really a pretense for their own ignorance and condemnation. They also try to emotionally manipulate you and even go to the extent that it's really all just about being a good person. But don't let any of this make you waver just as a righteous anchor can stay grounded against all forces of nature. Their reasoning is of uncertainty, and an effective way to deal with such is to reveal God as Mystery and to allow their troubled minds to toil away until He calms them.

Yes, religions say similar things, but they don't reach the same destination as one that looks human isn't the same as you, nor do they walk and do the same things as you. All aside from Christ have the burden of the cares, riches, pleasures, and worries of the world. Even more so some have transcended, in a sense, but now float around in the wind. They have no True Anchor. Others externalize their responsibilities and say since they serve the world and do right by its ways they are good. No one is good but God. And so when you hear such arguments about the similarities between religions answer, simply, that being similar doesn't mean the same. May you be blessed. Amen.
